A Pedra do Reino - Uma agradável surpresa

Hoje, após muito tempo, assisti um programa de televisão desde o começo até o final, o primeiro capítulo da microssérie A Pedra do Reino, da Rede Globo, baseado no romance O Romance d'A Pedra do Reino e o Príncipe do Sangue do Vai-e-Volta, de Ariano Suassuna.

Depois de uma série mais "tradicional", Amazônia (daquelas cheias de atores famosos, mas sem saco para fazer uma novela inteira...), A Pedra do Reino com seu elenco desconhecido e enredo, filmagen, maquiagem, praticamente tudo, totalmente diferente das novelas e minisséries comuns, caiu como uma luva e conseguiu abrir uma exceção na minha desilusão com a produção de TV brasileira (Novela, novela, novela, novela....).

Tomara que ela consiga um reconhecimento à altura do bem que está fazendo, de mostrar que existe um universo inteiro além da receita padrão de novela+mulherbonita+atorfamoso...

PS: Se sair em DVD compro na hora...

Devocional - Mais relacionamento

The Great Commission is all about making friends. Now I know Jesus said, “Therefore, go and make disciples …” (Matthew 28:19 NLT), but Jesus himself showed that you can’t make a disciple until you first make a friend. “I no longer call you slaves, because a master doesn’t confide in his slaves. Now you are my friends, since I have told you everything the Father told me.” (John 15:15 NLT)

So what Christians have called “witnessing” for some time really should be more like building relationships. It’s what you do over the long haul of a relationship that counts so much more than door-to-door canvassing of the neighborhood.

“The minute you lay hold of a conversation in order to steer it in a certain direction, it ceases to be a conversation, it’s a sales pitch; and you aren’t a human being anymore, you’re a marketing rep. If you really care about the man, ask him about his kids … his wife … his dreams ...”

It’s the difference between pushing an agenda and truly caring for somebody. If you care about somebody, you want to know what he or she is thinking, what is the person’s hopes and dreams, joys and disappointments – in other words, what are the things that make that person human. Friendship is all about finding common ground, and it is out of this common ground that what is shared will have credibility.

Um dos melhores serviços que já vi, tão inovador quando o Pandora, é o Musicovery. Como minha conexão (600kpbs) ainda não permite streaming de alta qualidade enquanto navego, a opção de lo-fi do Musicovery funciona perfeitamente, sem contar o ótimo esquema de navegação (Escolha por estilos e uma matriz (Depressivo/Positivo x Calmo/Enérgico). Ah, também tem o visual... ;-)

All this just confirms that God made us for relationships – relationships with him and with each other. When you think of it, there’s nothing in life more important than relationships. They are the one tangible connection we have to eternity. Our souls are eternal. What I know and remember of these people will live on into eternity. Some of them – I hope all of them – I will see in heaven. Some of them I may yet see on earth.
